Who would have thought that two people who met at the State Fair would call it Happily Ever After two years later? Mercedes’ very apparent sass and Layton’s quiet charm make them the perfect couple. Their wedding day was so beautiful, and I can’t wait to share it with you!
Wow, what a gorgeous morning for a gorgeous event. The sun was shining bright, and the sky was a breathtaking blue. We couldn’t have asked for better weather at the SPRINGS’ Stone Hall in McKinney, TX in the Dallas Fort Worth area!
We had plenty of time to set up, and everything turned out so beautifully! The tablecloths were placed, the centerpieces were perfected, the hot chocolate bar was prepped…Everything was ready for their special day!
Mary Magdalen Makeup was the first to arrive, since they had quite a few ladies who they needed to beautify! They did a fantastic job, with so much time to spare, too!
April and Jason with April Sapp Photography began shooting all the gorgeous photos, starting with Mercedes’ and Layton’s personal items and the ceremony decor! So beautiful…
Windsor Florist did absolutely stunning work with all of the florals. Such beautiful flower arrangements, and the pillars they set up on the ceremony stage were spectacular!
Wow. I have almost no words with how precious Mercedes’ first look was with her father. He was beyond moved by how beautiful she was, and he couldn’t believe his little baby girl was all grown up and starting a new life. The love he has for her is so evident, and it brought almost all the bridesmaids to tears (who were peeking through the window to see). It was unforgettable.
Mercedes and Layton chose to have an indoor ceremony (since it was a teensy bit chilly outside!), and it couldn’t have been more perfect. They made it so intimate and personal.
One of their best friends was the officiant, another good friend wrote a song to sing during the sand ceremony and communion, and they even had their mentor couple from premarital counseling come up to pray.
Since April and Jason made such amazing time with the pre-ceremony pictures, the post-ceremony pictures flew by! We were ahead of schedule about 30 minutes, so Mercedes and Layton got to enjoy some private down-time as a newly married couple in the upper room.
While the bride and groom were relaxing and getting ready for a fun night, the guests got to enjoy a fajita buffet, provided by El Fenix. It was so delicious! Of course there had to be Mexican food…Mercedes wouldn’t have allowed anything else! ;)
Later that evening, Mr. and Mrs. Lee were announced into the reception as the happy couple! And they were just that: happy. So happy. It was such a joy to see it radiating from them.
And not only was it evident how happy the bride and groom were, but how happy their friends and family were, too! The toasts from their family and friends were very heartfelt, as well as the unforgettable rap done by Katy (a bridesmaid) and Pradeep (the best man)! Oh, it was hilarious.
The celebration continued on into the dancing! So much dancing! Everyone had a blast gettin’ down onto the dance floor, thanks to Sean Waldrop with Boogieman DJ! He had the dance floor filled up, and the guests were having such a great time.
The evening commenced with a classy bubble send-off, accompanied by a fantastically-decorated going away car! Everyone was so happy for Mercedes and Layton, and it will definitely be a night to remember.
Mercedes and Layton,
Wow. I am so happy for the both of you. Words cannot express how beyond excited I am for the two of you! It has been such an honor being at your sides and helping you through the planning process. I know God will bless you both so much, and I can’t wait to witness it first-hand!
Much love,
Chelsey
